Becoming an Employer of Choice

Firms can become employers of choice by paying their employees more than the prevailing industry wage, allowing flexible work schedules, and providing more benefits and services to their employees. We will illustrate the employer-of-choice principle by showing how employers that provide on-site day care for their employees' children reduce absenteeism and turnover; thereby lowering labor costs.
